John Tinsley III, AFE, CIE, CPA
Mr. Tinsley is a former Special Deputy and former Chief Examiner for the Delaware Department of Insurance.
Prior to joining the Delaware Department of Insurance in 1985, Mr. Tinsley was an examiner with the Pennsylvania Insurance Department.
During his career in insurance regulation, he has participated in virtually every aspect of insurance solvency regulation, at both the state and national levels.
He has participated in every type of examination, overseen the financial analysis function and has been involved with the supervision, rehabilitation and liquidation of insurance companies.
Among Mr. Tinsley’s unique qualifications is his experience representing the Delaware Department of Insurance on numerous NAIC committees, task forces and working groups.
As Chair of the NAIC’s Financial Examinations Scheduling and Planning Technical Group,
he played a significant role in the NAIC’s formal process of reviewing and evaluating the solvency of insurance companies domiciled in the United States. Also of note are his many contributions made regarding the NAIC’s Codification of Statutory Accounting Principles and Financial Analysis Working Group.
Mr. Tinsley is Vice President of
InsRis. He is responsible for supervising and managing the financial and market conduct examinations of insurance companies licensed and doing business in the State of Delaware.
