In addition to state insurance regulators, the InsRis team also assists federal regulators in fulfilling their responsibilities regarding tax matters, as follows:

Internal Revenue Service

• Assist in tax audits of major life/health and property/casualty insurance companies 

• Providing training to revenue agents on reserving principles and reserve issues

District Counsel Office

• Provided expert testimony in tax court on Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI)

Department of Justice 

• Assist in resolving tax matters of certain major life/health and property/casualty insurance companies
